I’m Jane Roques-Shaw (pronounced Rock-Shore) and I’m passionate about living every moment meaningfully and helping others do the same with warmth, ease and (hopefully) a little humour.
I was lucky to work with a kind and compassionate celebrant on my husband’s funeral and this is what inspired me to become a celebrant after a two-decade long career working in storytelling, employee experience design, and event management for some of the world’s most well-known film studios.
I live in the beautiful town of Bradford-on-Avon, about 15 minutes from Bath, and have a 26-year old step-daughter who lives in France and a fiesty little miniature daschund called Stanley Tucci.
I share more about the things I love below and look forward to learning more about you. You can book a no-obligation discovery call with me here.
Exploring the world – I love the magic of stepping into a new country, breathing in the sights, sounds and stories of different cultures. I’ve visited 43 countries so far and would say my favourite trips have been to Italy and South Africa. I’m good for honeymoon tips!
The joy of food – I love trying out new places to eat and will pretty much try anything (although really hate lemongrass and coriander!) We even structured our honeymoon around food – eating our way around various countries.
The magic of storytelling – I am a huge movie fan. My all-time favourite is Breakfast at Tiffany’s but I also love anything by John Hughes! I spent a decade working in the film industry which was a dream come true. I still have to pinch myself now.
Time with friends & family – I’m very close to my family and friends and have a gorgeous step-daughter who lives in France. From deep and meaningful conversations to uncontrollable laughter these connections are what life is all about. I also have a dog called Stanley Tucci. Want a pet at your ceremony – no problem!
Staying endlessly curious – I love to read, although suffer from a little tsundoku, meaning I love to buy books but tend to let them pile up at home without reading them unless I’m on holiday or travelling on public transport. I’m always wanting to explore and learn more!
The British Heart Foundation holds a special place in my heart, which is why, from June 2026, a percentage of every ceremony fee will go towards supporting their work in memory of my husband, Seb.

"You set the tone of such an incredible day, the love, fun, happiness, excitement, you brought it all and we loved it. Thank you."
(Wedding couple)
"Every so often, if you're lucky, you come across people you know you would love to work with, Jane is one such person. Warm and compassionate, with great communication and a lovely sense of humour ."(Wedding supplier)
"Everyone thought that the funeral was very Dad and struck all the right chords. Your gentle presence at my elbow whilst I struggled through the eulogy was just what I needed." (Funeral client)
"We were sooo blessed to have you Jane and every single guest commented on how amazing the ceremony was - thank you for creating a special memory for us to hold forever"
(Wedding couple)
"Jane has a charming writing style, a storytelling voice, and a gentle way about herself which will greatly help families.”
(Funeral client)
"You did a fantastic job today, it was exactly how we wanted.
You are amazing."
(Funeral client)
Unique ceremonies in Wiltshire, Somerset and beyond.
(I will also be offering services in the South of France - more coming soon!)
